The Association of National Exchanges Members of India (ANMI) successfully concluded its highly anticipated 13th International Convention held at The Ashok Hotel, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, on February 24, 2024. The Special Guest at the event was Mr. Kamlesh Varshney, Whole Time Member, SEBI. 

The convention, themed “Bharat: A Global Hub of Opportunities,” brought together over 900 trading members from leading Indian stock exchanges such as NSE, BSE, MCX, and other Exchanges. Dignitaries from the Indian capital market ecosystem, including regulatory authorities, Managing Directors, Chief Executive Officers of various exchanges, and leaders from prominent broking houses, graced the event.

The previous day saw ANMI host a gala event to honor the media for their indispensable role in creating awareness about the finance and capital market domain.

The main highlight of the convention was the thought-provoking sessions focusing on Mega Trends in the Indian Capital Markets for the Next Decade, India’s Economic Ascent, and Technology Enablers in Capital Markets. Renowned experts in the finance sector engaged in motivating discussions and provided valuable insights into the future of Indian capital markets.

As part of its commitment to inclusive development, ANMI unveiled a report highlighting the roadmap for the inclusive development of Indian capital markets. ANMI members pledged to undertake various initiatives, including promoting sustainable investing through ESG criteria adoption, leveraging technology for financial inclusion, collaborating with educational institutions to develop capital market-related courses, enhancing skills and promoting gender balance in the financial market workforce, and ensuring transparency and efficiency in financial markets.

The Special Guest, Mr. Kamlesh Varshney, Whole Time Member, SEBI congratulated ANMI for the riveting discussions held at the convention and the release of the insightful report.

Dr. Vijay Mehta, President of ANMI, emphasising ANMI’s dedication towards creating a vibrant and inclusive capital market ecosystem in India, said, “At our 13th International Convention, we celebrated India’s capital markets which is full of opportunities. With a strong economy, advanced technology, and rich culture, India is shining globally. Just last month, over 5.4 million new investors joined the market, and as of February 9th, we had nearly 161 million registered investors.
