The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) has engaged Tata Trusts to assist with speeding up development in Ghadchiroli district of Maharashtra. The MoHA is the nodal ministry, on behalf of the Union Government, for central developmental initiatives in this district, under the overall Aspirational Districts programme covering 115 districts of the country.
The MoHA and Tata Trusts have signed a memorandum of understanding, under which the Trusts will provide technical support.
The Trusts will deploy two trained resource, to be called ‘Development Fellows’, in each of these districts to assist the administration such that programmes of both government and non-government agencies are implemented in a convergent manner, bringing about fast development.
The Trusts’ assistance is built on the lines of the organisation’s interventions in the Swachh Bharat Mission across the country, and rural upliftment programmes in select states. Under these programmes, Trusts appointed resources are assisting administrations to implement a host of community development projects.
