Senses rises to a new high, Nifty above 12,700
Mumbai : Financials, RIL led the market rally as 17 of the 30 Sensex stocks ended in green at close of the day.
The 30-pack Sensex touched a high of 43,522.25 and a low of 43,053.37 to finally settle at 43,443.00.
ICICI Bank, RIL, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance and Infosys were the major Index contributers.
Among the top Index gainers were Bajaj Finserv (3.84), Tata Steel (3.12 per cent), ICICI Bank (2.03 per cent).
Among the top losers were L&T (1.95 per cent), HDFC Bank (1.05 per cent), HDFC (1.02 per cent).
S&P BSE METAL was the biggest sectoral gainer as it went up by 1.94 per cent.
S&P BSE CAPITAL GOODS was the biggest sectoral loser as it went down 0.33 per cent.
RIL, Infosys, HDFC, Bajaj Finance and TCS were among the top volume toppers.
