Mumbai : Sensex and Nifty closed at a new high during the Mahurat trading on Saturday touching 43,638 and 12,750 respectively even as 22 Sensex stocks ended in the green.
Sun Pharma was the top gainer while SBI was the worst loser.
The main contributors to the Sensex were HDFC Bank, Infosys, RIL and TCS.
At least 163 stocks jumped to a 52-week highs. All the sectoral stocks on BSE ended in the green..
Midcap and Smallcap indices gained and outperformed the benchmark.

Investors got richer by Rs 1.24 lakh crore as Market Cap of all BSE-listed firms grew to Rs 169.56 lakh crore.
The advance-decline ratio on BSE was at nearly 4 : 1 with 1700 stocks in the green and 450 in the red. A 111 stocks remained unchanged.
Aditya Birla Capital, Dhani Services, Vodafone Idea, Kalpataru Power, Indiabulls Real Estate and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers were among the top gainers from broader markets while Dixon Tech, Aster DM Healthcare, DCB Bank, REC, GM Infra and Balkrishna Industries were losers.
