Domestic Indices rise little in volatile Market, Metal and Pharma stocks go up

Amidst high volatility in the Market and rise in Covid-19 cases, domestic indices on Thursday rose marginally as metal and Pharma stocks led the rally .

Sensex rose 85.26 points higher or 0.14 per cent to close at 61,236 while its broader peer Nifty ended 0.25 per cent higher at 18257.80.

Among the sectors, Metal, Pharma, Power, Oil and Gas, and Capital Goods Indices increased 1 to 3 per cent while Bank and Realty indices fell over 0.5 per cent each. 

In broader Markets, BSE Midcap and Small cap indices ended in the green.

Among the top Nifty gainers were Tata Steel, JSW Steel, Sun Pharma, Coal India and UPL. On the other hand, Wipro, Asian Paints HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank did not fare well. 

Share prices of top IT Stocks  Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services will be watched in the coming days after the two companies posted Q3FY22 results yesterday.

TCS reported higher profit at Rs 9769 crore in Q3FY22 as against Rs 9624 crores Q2FY2022,

Revenue rose  to Rs 48,885 crore QoQ. The Company also approved buyback of 4 equity shares for upto Rs 18,000 crore at a price of Rs 4500 per share.

Infosys reported higher profit at Rs 5809 crore in Q3FY22 as against Rs 5421 crore in Q2FY22, Revenue rose from Rs 29602 crore to Rs 31,867 crore.
