On Wednesday, the domestic indices started the day in the green with gains of around 0.5 per cent and lost some gains till afternoon to close about 0.2 per cent higher.
Sensex rose 146 points to close at above 59,000 while Nifty also gained 25 points to end at 17,512. IT, PSU Bank and Metal indices dragged the market while Finance, Oil and Gas and FMGC rose in today’s session.
HDFC, ITC and Nestle India rose around 2 per cent to become the topmost performers while JSW Steel and NTPC struggled in today’s session.
Japan and European markets gained on Wednesday while China and Hong Kong ended in the Red.
