In view of impending Cabinet expansion of the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre on Wednesday evening, the 30-share pack Sensex at BSE rose 193.58 points or 0.37 per cent to close at 53054.76 while its broader NSE Nifty went up 61.40 points or 0.39 per cent to 15,879.65.
Paper Stocks and Brokerage Stocks were on a roll today with many counters hitting the buyer circuit. Many stocks fell after stock exchanges sought clarifications.
The Paper stocks saw an upward revision as the demand is expected to grow by 11 Stocks of to 15 per cent in 2021 fiscal with the schools and colleges likely to open, Market experts said. Pudumjee Paper Products, Shree Rama Newsprint, Emami Paper and Genus Paper rose 20 per cent each to 46.50, Rs 189.50, Rs 24.65 and Rs 14.08 respectively.
The Brokerage firms also saw a rise in the stocks prices. IIFL Securities went up 19 per cent to Rs 90.90. Edelweiss Financial Services and Motilal Oswal Financial Services gained 8 to 10 per cent.
Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers has settled its dispute with GAIL (India) for recovery of differential gas pricing of Rs 1439.57 crores filed by GAIL for Rs 87.17 crores. The stock price ended at 87.80 which is 7 per cent higher.
Shares of Sobha Realty Company rose to 6 per cent to Rs 518.60 while the today sales value in Q1FY22 increased by 40 per cent to Rs 682.9 crores as against the total sales of Rs 487.7 crores in the same quarter in the previous year.
Tata Steel stock rose 4 per cent to Rs 1217.80.
Natco Pharma, Force Motors, Suzlon Energy and Trident were among the top losers during the day.
