Domestic indices end in the Red as Bears rule the Market at close

Hopes of Corona Vaccine pushes Sensex up 429 points

Domestic indices ended in the Red on Tuesday with BSE Sensex dropping 396 points or 0.65 per cent to close at 60,322 points  Nifty 50 index fell 0.61 per cent to touch 17,999.

Bank Nifty fell one per cent to end at 38,300 while broader markets mirrored the fall except smallcap indices as Nifty smallcap gained 0.58 per cent.

Among the heavy losers were Reliance Industries Ltd which fell 3.17 per cent followed by SBI and Ultratech Cement.

Among the gainers on Sensex were Maruti Suzuki India, up 7.32 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tech Mahindra and Infosys.

Volatility gauge was down nearly 2 per cent today while benchmark indices were down in the red as bears took over the market.  India VIX closed 1.75 per cent lower.
