Chargesheet filed in 2020 Delhi Riot case points a finger at Tablighi Jamaat

Delhi/Mumbai, June 3 : Police today filed charge sheet in a Delhi court in the February 2020 Delhi Riots case which revealed that the key conspirator Faisal Farooque was allegedly in close contact with Abdul Aleem, believed to be close to Tablighi Jamaat Chief Maulana Mohammed Saad when the Riots took place in the capital of the country.
Police had carried out a detailed analysis of Faisal Farooque’s phone as part of its investigation into his role in the riots. According to the chargesheet filed by police, Faisal was in touch with prominent members of the Popular Front of India, Pinjra Tod Group, Jamia Coordination Committee and the Hazrat Nizamuddin Markaz.
Faisal is among the 18 people arrested by the Crime Branch in the riots case, He owns Rajdhani school in Dayalpur. One of the initial targets of the rioters was the DRP Convent School in close proximity to the Faisal’s Rajdhani school. Investigations have revealed that Faisal had hatched a conspiracy to organize riots in and around Rajdhani School. It has now surfaced that on Faisal’s instigation, the nearby DRP school was attacked and destroyed by the mob.
The allegations of the rival school being attacked and damaged were revealed separately by the security personnel of both the schools and forms part of the charge sheet.
The Markaz has been in controversy since Coronavirus broke out in the early days and it came to light that congregations were held there in March this year following which the participants went to different parts of the country and abroad. The violators from foreign countries have already been booked for violating visa norms and the Foreigners Act. Besides, Maulana Saad also faces allegations of money laundering which are currently being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.
