Rising cases of Omicron in USA and Europe dampened the spirits of investors as domestic equity markets remained weak on Friday. The markets witnessed selling pressure due to FII outflows and developments at Global Central banks discouraged investors further.
The 30-share pack Sensex fell 889.40 points or 1.54 per cent to close at 57,011.74 points. Its broader peer Nifty50 dropped 263.20 points or 1.53 per cent to end at 16,985.2 points.
Broader Markets took a drubbing. RateGain Travel’s debut was not noteworthy while investors lost in scrips of Suvidha Infoserve and Sriram EPC. Indiabulls Housing also fell. Among the gainers, MTNL led followed by Indo National.
RateGain Travel, Shriram EPC, Suvidha Infoserve, Kitex Garments, Indiabulls Housing Finance and Tata Motors DVR were among the losers.
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam, Indo-National, Nectar Lifesciences were among the gainers.
