{"id":6205,"date":"2020-06-06T01:28:54","date_gmt":"2020-06-06T01:28:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/financeintellect.com\/home-page\/home\/?p=6205"},"modified":"2020-06-06T01:28:54","modified_gmt":"2020-06-06T01:28:54","slug":"sc-seeks-centres-reply-on-capping-cost-of-covid-19-treatment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/financeintellect.com\/home-page\/home\/sc-seeks-centres-reply-on-capping-cost-of-covid-19-treatment\/","title":{"rendered":"SC seeks Centre\u2019s reply on Capping cost of Covid-19 treatment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New Delhi, June 5 : The Supreme Court today suggested that Charitable hospitals which have come up on Government plots at concessional rates\u00a0should provide free treatment to some COVID-19 patients and sought a reply from the Centre on this within a week.<\/p>\n<p>A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan was hearing a petition filed by Avishek Goenka for fixing an upper limit for treatment of COVID-19 patients by Private hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>Senior lawyers Harish Salve and Mukul Rohatgi,\u00a0 appearing on behalf of hospitals, submitted that an earlier judgement of the apex court had already\u00a0directed hospitals who have got free land from the Government to reserve 25 per cent of beds free of cost.<\/p>\n<p>The court asked the hospital Associations to file their relies within two weeks and the hearing until then.<\/p>\n<p>The petition said there should be an increase in private quarantine facilities and hospitals should provide an option to the Corona infected people to avail facilities on payment basis.
