The survey throws up interesting insights into the current practices of the broking\u00a0industry in terms of their technology preparedness as well as their views and plans for future\u00a0technology needs.<\/p>\n<p>The survey found that almost\u00a086% of\u00a0brokers view technology as an important criterion for their\u00a0businesses by 2020. It also showed that\u00a079%\u00a0of brokers were currently active investors in technology.<\/p>\n<p>However, the survey revealed that despite a large number of brokers facing some technology-related\u00a0setbacks over the last two years, most still didn\u2019t have a fixed annual budget earmarked as\u00a0technology expenditure. More than\u00a072%\u00a0respondents said their technology spend was \u2018as and when\u00a0required\u2019. This indicates the lack of preparedness among the broking industry players for dealing with\u00a0the challenges of an ever-changing technology landscape in the industry and their need to keep pace<br \/>\nwith technology developments around the world.<\/p>\n<p>The survey also found that besides front-office and back-office software, the other technology\u00a0software that most brokers \u2013 around\u00a058%\u00a0\u2013 would invest in 2020 would be the Algos, which indicates\u00a0precision and speed in execution of trades will continue to be the focus areas for brokers even as\u00a0broking services migrate towards automation and DIY models.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD &amp;amp; CEO, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bseindia.com\">BSE<\/a>, &amp;quot;Stocktech is organised keeping in\u00a0mind the ever increasing need of the stock brokers to keep abreast with the latest technology\u00a0available in the market to augment their businesses. The Indian capital market and stock broking\u00a0space is at a transformative juncture with a lot of emphasis on safe, responsive, cost effective and\u00a0dynamic stock broking.<\/p>\n<p>The rapid expansion of networks and technologies has led to the emergence\u00a0of cybercrime due to which it has become important for firms to counter likely cyber threats and invest\u00a0in technological infrastructure for enhanced performance and cybersecurity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Kamlesh Shroff (ANMI CHAIRMAN WIRC)\u201c,\u00a0\u201cTechnology has played a key role in\u00a0the transformation of India\u2019s broking landscape. It\u2019ll continue to play a significant role in determining\u00a0the competitiveness among the industry players in terms of costs, speed and ease of service,\u00a0widening reach as well as providing personalised solutions for meeting specific customer<br \/>\nrequirements.<\/p>\n<p>The StockTech Survey\u00a0provides a glimpse of the current and future technology needs\u00a0of the broking industry and the parameters they\u2019ll need to improve on for keeping pace with the\u00a0expected growth in financial market services. The Stock Tech Annual symposium, on the other hand,\u00a0provides an opportunity for all participants of the broking industry to update their technology to be able\u00a0to stay competitive and ahead of the curve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0StockTech\u00a0annual marquee show is India\u2019s largest gathering of the entire financial market\u00a0technology ecosystem.
