{"id":590,"date":"2018-05-07T06:31:58","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T06:31:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/financeintellect.com\/home-page\/home\/?p=590"},"modified":"2018-05-07T06:31:58","modified_gmt":"2018-05-07T06:31:58","slug":"positive-asian-markets-push-equity-indices-higher","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/financeintellect.com\/home-page\/home\/positive-asian-markets-push-equity-indices-higher\/","title":{"rendered":"Positive Asian markets push equity indices higher"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Broadly positive Asian indices coupled with expectations of healthy quarterly earning results pushed the key Indian equity indices to trade higher during the morning session on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>However, gains were capped due to caution over the upcoming assembly polls in\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=karnataka\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karnataka.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to market observers, healthy buying was witnessed in consumer durables, metals, automobile and\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=banking\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">banking\u00a0<\/a>stocks.<\/p>\n<p>At 11.00 a.m., the broader Nifty50 of\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=the+national+stock+exchange\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the National Stock Exchange\u00a0<\/a>(NSE) traded at 10,654.50 points &#8212; up 36.25 points or 0.34 per cent &#8212; from its previous close.<\/p>\n<p>The barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), which opened at 34,983.59 points, traded at 35,030.98 points &#8212; up 115.60 points or 0.33 per cent &#8212; from its previous session&#8217;s close of 34,915.38 points.<\/p>\n<p>The Sensex has so far touched a high of 35,061.56 points and a low of 34,977.74 points during the intra-day trade.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Markets traded on a higher note during Monday (morning session) taking cues from their global peers,&#8221; said Dhruv Desai, Director and Chief Operating Officer,\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=tradebulls\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tradebulls.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Desai cautioned: &#8220;Choppiness is expected to continue during the week ahead due to the\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=karnataka\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karnataka\u00a0<\/a>assembly polls on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Other economic data, investors will look forward to fiscal deficit data, industrial production data and consumer price index (CPI) data to be released during this week.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>On May 4, &#8212; the previous trade session &#8212; both the key indices closed in the red due to consistent outflow of foreign funds along with weak Asian equities, geopolitical tensions in\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=middle+east\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Middle East\u00a0<\/a>and\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=high+crude+oil+prices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">high crude oil prices.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Consequently, the NSE Nifty50 closed at 10,618.25 points, down by 61.40 points or 0.57 per cent from the previous close.<\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the\u00a0<a class=\"storyTags\" href=\"http:\/\/www.business-standard.com\/search?type=news&amp;q=bse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BSE\u00a0<\/a>had closed in the red.
