The Akshaya Patra Foundation, in association with Phoenix Marketcity, Kurla organised the 4th edition of its biking event, \u2018Outride Hunger Rally\u2019 in Mumbai to create awareness about the need to eliminate classroom hunger across the nation. Over 200 bikers participated in the event to support this initiative. The rally was flagged off by Shri Amitasana Dasa – President, The Akshaya Patra Foundation and Sundeep Talwar, Chief Marketing Officer, The Akshaya Patra Foundation at the Thane kitchen.<\/p>\n
The event was graced by Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor as the celebrity guest of honour.<\/p>\n
Enthusiastic bikers covered a distance of 22 kilometres, starting from the Akshaya Patra kitchen in Vasant Vihar, Thane, to Phoenix Paragon Plaza in Kurla. The bikers cruised through key areas of the city such as Varthak Nagar, Eastern Express Highway, Kapurwadi, Waghle Estates, Navpada & Kopri in Thane, Panthnagar, Shreyas Signal, and LBS Marg to reach the finishing point.<\/p>\n
The rally saw participation from some renowned biking clubs such as the India Bull Riders, Mumbai Riders, Enfield Riders, M-17 Bikers Club, Musafir Motorcycle Club, and BMW India Ride Chapters.<\/p>\n
At the flagging off, Amitasana Dasa said, \u201cWe are immensely grateful to these bikers who have come forward to support to our cause. Their support serves to inspire and encourage us in our fight against classroom hunger.\u201d He further added, \u201cwe are thankful to the Government & Thane Municipal Corporation for their support to this endeavour.\u201d<\/p>\n
Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor expressed his delight to be a part of the event. \u201cCommunity engagement is essential when it comes to social causes, especially when you are working to serve children\u2014the future of the country.
