Bengaluru-based Saankhya Labs on Thursday launched an indigenous multi-standard “Next Generation” System-on-Chip (SoC) named Pruthvi-3.\u00a0Union Communications Minister Manoj Sinha unveiled the chipset here in the presence of Amitabh Kant, CEO NITI Aayog and Anshu Prakash, Additional Secretary, Department of Telecommunications among others, Saankhya Labs said in a statement.<\/p>\n
The new chipset is an improvement over the previous Pruthvi chip that was launched in 2015, and can be used in multiple communication products including mobile devices, broadcast television, satellite communications and defence communications, it said.<\/p>\n
“Pruthvi-3 is a fully programmable multi-standard chipset that supports next generation broadcast standards. Available in multiple package options (SL3000 and SL4000), Pruthvi-3 will enable live broadcast TV capability on mobile devices and support video offload services from mobile networks to broadcast network,” it said.<\/p>\n
The Pruthvi-3 is an “advanced SDR SoC” manufactured in “28-nm (nanometre) FDSOI (Fully Depleted Silicon On Insulator)” process supporting advanced “Physical Layer” functionality.<\/p>\n
“Advanced computational capabilities coupled with ultra-lower power consumption and small footprint makes it an ideal choice for multiple applications including mobile devices. The mobile-ready version is a first-of-its-kind that supports most advanced IP-based Next Gen Terrestrial TV reception,” it said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
