Eminent personalities from the fashion, design, architecture and communication space came in as keynote speakers and gave inspiring insights on their professional journey.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">In his keynote address\u00a0Anuj Prasad, Founder, Director &amp; CEO of Desmania Design\u00a0led the students through 27 years of his journey as a design entrepreneur which led to Desmania Design emerging as India\u2019s Best Industrial Design Studio. Prasad illustrated his engaging talk with several examples from his 500+ Products &amp; 1000+ Project portfolio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Another keynote speaker\u00a0Amardeep Behl, Director \u2013 Design Habit &amp; Chief Designer\u00a0behind the museum Virasat-e-Khalsa in Anandpur Sahib, talked to the students about finding expression and deeper meaning in working with space to merge various media, like architecture, graphic design, industrial design, audio-visual and digital multimedia into a common language. He shared his journey towards finding and creating an Indian expression of design, a design language strongly rooted in its culture and traditions, eminently applicable in the contemporary times<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The students attended many more engaging programs during the orientation session, made introductions with fellow students, explored the sprawling campus and its various facilities before settling into campus\u00a0boarding.\u00a0Concurrently a Family Orientation session for parents and family members was also held to make them aware about the University resources and processes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Vice Chancellor, World University of Design<\/span><span lang=\"EN-GB\">(WUD) urged students to utilize their days at the University in acquiring quality knowledge in order to be better prepared for the emerging global opportunities in the design space.<\/span>\u00a0He<span lang=\"EN-GB\">\u00a0said<b>,\u00a0<\/b>\u201c New student orientation at the World University of Design is designed to be fun, informative and helps make students feel at home as they make they make the transition to life at World University of Design. It is the moment in which students begin to create connections with the College and with each other, enabling them to create a vibrant interactive community during the 3 to 4 years of their academic journey at WUD and beyond into their professional lives as they pursue their passion for Design.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-GB\">With a unique curriculum high quality trans-disciplinary education WUD aspires to encourage creativity, innovation, academic excellence and industry preparedness setting the tone towards laying a well-rounded design foundation. The University offers creative and comprehensive course catalogue with 24 specialized UG &amp; PG programs across design arenas such as Fashion, Communication, Visual Arts, Design &amp; Retail Management, Professional\u00a0Automotive Modelling and Architecture.
