The Rotary Club of Bombay Pier Unveils Groundbreaking Initiatives: A New Hospital and Village Adoption Program

The Rotary Club of Bombay Pier is proud to announce two transformative initiatives aimed at enhancing community health and welfare: the establishment of a new hospital and the adoption of a village. Mr. Kamlesh Shroff, a veteran stockbroker with over four decades of experience, will assume the role of President on July 1, 2024, spearheading these ambitious projects.

Under Mr. Shroff’s leadership, the Rotary Club of Bombay Pier will continue its legacy of impactful service projects, which include:

Project National Integration: Construction of Veer Naari homes for war widows, providing shelter and support to those who have lost their loved ones in service to the nation.

Healthcare Initiatives: Significant support to Bhakti Vedanta Eye Hospital in Barsana, enhancing eye care services.

  • Performing over 450 pediatric heart surgeries, giving children a new lease on life.
  • Administering over 3,200 cervical cancer vaccines and conducting awareness camps to educate the community about cancer prevention.
  • Organizing year-round blood donation camps to ensure a steady supply of blood for those in need.
  • Operating two Mobile Medical Units that serve approximately 50,000 people annually, ensuring healthcare reaches the remotest areas.

Educational and Skill Development Programs:

  • Providing life skills and education to vibrant Anganwadis in Mokhada and Jawahar, Palghar district.
  • Adopting a school in Dharavi, focusing on improving educational infrastructure and resources.
  • Establishing a skill development centre in Wada, which will focus on both educational and health pillars, fostering community growth and self-sufficiency.

Support for Senior Citizens: Launching the Baghbaan project, aimed at transitioning seniors from disability to ability, ensuring they lead dignified and fulfilling lives.

Leadership and Recognition: The Rotary Club of Bombay Pier is proud to lead District 3141 as the number one club in The Rotary Foundation (TRF) collection and ranks as the number three club in South East Asia. With over 100 elite members, the club continues to set benchmarks in community service and philanthropic contributions.
