PHDCCI welcomes PM’s strategy to take measures locally to tackle Covid

Sensex drops 346 points, Nifty slips 94 points amidst weak global markets & rise in Covid-19 cases

PHDCCI has fully supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strategic advise to the heads of all the states in India on taking all preventive measures like identifying local containment zones with minimal damage on the livelihood of the common man.

Pradeep Multani, President PHDCC, said in a release here, “It is indeed important to maintain the economic momentum along with placing the Omicron variant of the virus at bay, and ensuring a healthier environment for the people. We fully support the Prime Minister in this regard.”

Multani further said, “another milestone achieved of vaccinating 30 million adolescents in a span of days is laudable. We, at PHDCCI, are committed to do our best to boost our economy, trade and industry and work towards achieving higher GDP growth. We thank our PM for his support to industry, trade and the Public health system, added Multani.

Modi had told the heads of the States, in a meeting recently, that the momentum of the economy should be maintained in order to focus more on local containment to tackle Covid-19.

Modi had chaired a meeting with Chief Ministers and Lt Governors/Administrators of States and Union Territories to review public health preparedness to tackle the pandemic and national vaccination progress.

Modi had also said that safeguarding the economy and livelihood of common people while framing COVID strategies was vital. Cautioning that Omicron variant was infecting the general public many times faster than the earlier variants, the Prime Minister had said that irrespective of variants, vaccination remained the most potent way to deal with the pandemic. “We have to be alert and careful but there should not be any panic situation.”
